Brodeur Releases Annual Constituent Survey Online: Asks About Gambling, Weed, Uber

Seminole County State Representative Jason Brodeur says citizens asked him to also release the survey electronically.

Sanford based state legislator Jason Brodeur has released his annual pre-session survey, hoping to capture the pulse of the community and to help his office determine where to focus during the next year. Brodeur, and other legislators regularly release these surveys through direct mail pieces.

This year however, Representative Brodeur said he received a request to make the survey available electronically.

"We snail mail every year. This year one of my constituents asked why I couldn't do it electronically. So I did."

IT entrepreneur Jesse Phillips, who is running for Seminole County GOP State Committeeman, said the GOP must continue to improve its efforts to harness technology.

"The GOP must continue its efforts to improve our technology and data capabilities in order to turn out voters and win. Something as simple as using an electronic survey instead of a hard copy paper not only saves tax payer dollars, but also engages younger voters who would probably ignore something that came through the mail," explained Phillips.

Mr. Brodeur also told us that he is hoping to finalize a email database that includes the most recent up to date contact information of residents in his district, and work towards more electronic delivery of news, surveys, and more. This year, his survey featured questions about casino gaming, marijuana legalization, fantasy sports, healthcare, and ride-share services like Uber and Lyft.

Seminole County residents can participate in the survey by clicking here.
