Hundreds turned out for a primo food spread, custom cocktails, and one of the season's last straw poll events.

The Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a great event on all fronts Thursday night at the beautiful Westin in Lake Mary, FL.

With over 400 in attendance, this hob nob/straw poll featured not only candidates for elected office, but also representatives from top area business like Orlando Health, Brighthouse, and AT&T.

Organized and lead by staffers with the Chamber, Jason Brodeur who is the President of the organization, applauded his volunteers and top operatives for delivering another seamless event.

Guests were buzzing over the food variety, which featured varying cultural favorites and a cash bar featuring your normal offerings, with a signature "Hob Nob" vodka cocktail.

Alice Weinberg, who chaired this year's efforts, said she was honored by the community turnout and support.

"As the oldest and largest hob nob in Seminole County, its exciting to see more than 400 people come to support their local candidates.

We're honored at the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce to provide this opportunity for our community to meet the candidates who will be shaping our cities, county, state and country for years."

Conservative talk radio rock-star Ed Dean was spotted connecting with eager fans, while political operative Alan Byrd was truly in his element.

News 13 political commentator Michelle Ertel zipped in before heading towards Downtown Orlando for coverage of the final night festivities at the Democratic National Convention in Philly.

Seasoned and well-read publisher of the Orlando Political Observer Frank Torres was holding court with multiple candidates and politicos.

GrayRobinson lead attorney Chris Carmody (impeccably dressed) ran the event from the stage, at times trading the mic with Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Michael Ertel, who entertained attendees to no end with several updates on where the straw poll stood throughout the night.

Dandy and man about town Jon Yapo, Foley & Lardner's foremost lobbying bulldog was donning a personally tailored blue suit, narrowly beating out Southern Strategy lobbyist Alex Setzer for best dressed. Yapo promised to hook me up with his elusive and sought after tailor, so thank him next time you see me in my new threads.

Roger Stone would be proud of his sartorial leanings. (SEE STONEONSTYLE.COM). Cassellberry City Commissioner Anthony Aramendia and Seminole County Property Appraiser David Johnson were seen enjoying fellowship with guests.

Enough gossip - on to the most important results of the night! Congressman John Mica routed his opponents AGAIN, no surprise... the people love the constituent oriented government watchdog. Seminole County GOP State Committeeman candidate Jesse Phillips earned an impressive 4th in a row straw poll victory.

State Committeewoman candidate Susan "Susie" Dolan netted yet another decisive win, continuing her assault on embattled and unpopular incumbent Kathryn Janes-Linkenback-Townsend.

Clerk of the Court hopeful Mike McLean posted his first straw poll win and legislators Bob Cortes and Scott Plakon snagged over 80% of the vote in their respective races.

"This win at the Seminole Chamber's Hob Nob was important to me. As a board member of this organization for nearly 15 years and a three-time small business of the year winner from the chamber, these are my friends and family and people who have known me for decades. However, tonight's results show how close this race really is and we're going to work even harder to earn the trust of voters," said McLean.

Seminole County Commissioners Bob Dallari and Brenda Carey walked away victorious.

"The Seminole County Chamber Hob Nob under the leadership of Jason Brodeur is always a premier event in Central Florida," observed Alex Setzer.

All in all, the Seminole Chamber of Commerce maintained their bragging rights as the largest in the region, with estimates confirming at least 400 flowing in throughout the evening.

"Once again, the #VoteSeminole team proved why Seminole County is truly the best in the nation," concluded Supervisor of Elections Michael Ertel who was re-elected without opposition earlier this year. Read the full results by clicking here.
