Seminole GOP Candidate Dishonest About Rubio Endorsement

kathryn townsend, kathryn janes linkenback townsend, seminole county post, seminole county news, news seminole county, florida gop, seminole county republican party, seminole county gop, jacob engels, susie dolan, susan dolan, marco rubio, senator marco rubio,

Kathryn Janes-Linkenback-Townsend recently implied an endorsement from the Senator and former Presidential candidate.

By Jacob Engels

Struggling to secure another term as the GOP State Committeewoman for Seminole County, Kathryn Janes-Linkenback-Townsend has been feverishly sharing an "endorsement" from high profile U.S. Senator Marco Rubio.

However, according to a source close to the Senator's re-election efforts, Rubio has not announced or agreed to any local endorsements.

Which means that Mrs. Linkenback-Townsend, who has earned the unfortunate bragging rights for having one of the worst attendance record of any State Committeeman or Committeewoman at important party functions, is grasping at straws trying to demonstrate support for her campaign.

It's been a tough road for Linkenback-Townsend, who last election cycle violated party oaths to challenge popular incumbent State Representative Jason Brodeur. The campaign was marred by late finance reports, illegal use of Republican party materials, and a recent lawsuit Townsend-Linkenback filed against the party.

Linkenback-Townsend's legal assault on the party is still ongoing (4-years later), and could cost GOP donors an estimated tens of thousands of dollars. In recent months, Linkenback-Townsend has drawn a credible challenger in Susan "Susie" Dolan, a popular Seminole County resident and high-level executive at WastePro.

As a sign of local Republican leaders disgust with Linkenback-Townsend's poor attendance record and attacks on the GOP, almost every elected official in Seminole County has endorsed Dolan over Linkenback-Townsend.

The embattled committeewoman announced the fake Rubio endorsement after losing several important straw polls and struggling to garner volunteers on the ground.

While I don't condone falsely implying the endorsement of the state's only Republican U.S. Senator, I can understand that Linkenback-Townsend feels the pressure to save face before likely losing her post on August 30th.

However, she should have claimed Donald Trump has endorsed, as Rubio lost to the Manhattan real-estate magnate by over 20% in this year's Republican presidential primary locally in Seminole County.

Even in her dishonesty, Linkenback-Townsend can't seem to get her schtick right. It's high time she gets the boot.
