Republican leaders really want Scott Plakon back in Tallahassee. The Plakon campaign announced today that they will be holding a campaign "super megawalk" this Saturday morning with an impressive guest list.

Scott Plakon is getting a little help from Republican leaders from across this state in his comeback bid for State House. Plakon, who lost to Karen Castor-Dentel in 2012, is facing Democratic incumbent Mike Clelland this November. If anyone was wondering whether or not the GOP wants this seat back, they should not be wondering any longer.

Plakon has wrangled Speaker Designate Steve Crisafulli and 10 other House Members to brave the heat and knock doors, coming from all over the state to support the former legislator who was hailed by the Orlando Sentinel as a great champion of the conservative cause and one of the legislatures most prolific lawmakers.

In addition to Crisafulli, the Plakon campaign has confirmed Rep. Ritch Workman, Rep. Dana Young, Rep. Jim Boyd, Rep. Larry Metz, Rep. Jimmie T. Smith, Rep. Travis Hutson, Rep. Dane Eagle, Rep. Charlie Stone, Rep. Holly Raschein and Rep. Eric Eisnaugle.

"I'm thankful that Incoming Speaker Crisafulli and my other friends from around the state would take time from their very busy schedules to help us to get our positive conservative message out to the voters of District 29. It would be my honor to work with these great leaders again in the Florida House towards policies that foster job creation and help provide educational opportunities for our children. We will be working very hard for the next 53 days to that end," said Plakon earlier today.

The "super megawalk" will kick-off at 9:30AM at Plakon's new campaign office in Longwood, which is located at the former location of CiCi's Pizza in the Plaza del Sol Shopping Center at 1155 West State Road 434 Longwood Florida 32750.

It will be followed by a lunch at Carmela's Resturant off I-4 and 434 in the Longwood Village Shopping Center, and we're told their Italian food is quite good.
