Townsend Employs Scott Maxwell To Hit Opponent, Gets Cease & Desist From GOP

Seminole GOP Committeewoman Kathryn Townsend attacks opponents mother as she struggles to make headway in state house district 28 primary.

By Jacob Engels

Kathryn Townsend is a hot mess. Since announcing her bid to take on fellow Republican and incumbent legislator Jason Brodeur, her campaign has been nothing short of weird & pathetically misguided.

Misses Campaign Report While Cruising With GLBT Activist -

First, Townsend failed to file simple reports detailing her campaign finances with the Florida Division of Elections. She blamed her campaign treasurer.

She couldn't be bothered with filing simple campaign reports or making sure her campaign team did as much after all, because was on a cruise with a GLBT activist in Alaska - complete with an internet connection and selfies uploaded on Facebook with her cruising partner Karen Brown.

Does Kathryn Townsend really think Seminole County voters are that dumb that they would not connect the dots? And if she can't file a simple campaign report on time, how can voters trust her to fulfill the duties of a state representative? Who advised her that going on a lengthy cruise with a GLBT activist little over a month before election day was OK?

First off, the office she is running for is rooted in the uber-conservative Seminole County....and secondly....you do not take vacations during a primary campaign against an incumbent. Is she taking this race seriously, I would argue she is not. END RANT.

Republican Party Sends Cease & Desist Letter To Townsend -

Recently, Townsend printed over a thousand yard signs for her campaign and had used the trademarked Republican elephant for those signs. But hey, she is a member of the Republican Party, a state committeewoman - so that should not be a big deal right? WRONG.

She then received a cease & desist letter from lawyers with the party, stating that her campaign signs were to be removed from circulation immediately and not used any further.

It's against party rules to use the trademarked symbol of the Republican Party on any campaign material - a rule Townsend is well acquainted with as an official of the GOP, yet she chose to ignore this and went forward with the printing anyways. On August 16th, Ms. Townsend responded to the cease and desist letter from the Republican Party by hosting a sign alteration "party" with Donna Bundy seated at the head of the table. See picture below.

From Kathryn Townsend's facebook page.

One has to ask, will Ms. Townsend be taking advice from Bundy if elected to office? Donna & her husband both have arrest records & both are advising the campaign. The "Bundy Family Selfies" are below. Culture of corruption in the Townsend campaign?

Donna Bundy's arrest mugshot - along with that of her husband, Butch Bundy's jailhouse photoshoot.

Townsend Teams Up With Orlando Sentinel's Scott Maxwell -

How do you know you are losing in a GOP primary in a conservative area? When you team up with the Orlando Slantinel' (as conservatives call it) liberal chieftain Scott Maxwell. In his taking names column, Maxwell called out Brodeur for a mailer the campaign sent out regarding ethics in the expressway authority. Fine. OK. It is what it is, but the bizarre part came when Townsend - a self proclaimed conservative activist, joined hands with Maxwell.

She called the mailer "galling" and then attacked Representative Brodeur by calling out his MOTHER.

"If I were his mother, I'd be horrified," Townsend lectured.

Now, I've been in politics since 2008 in Florida and never before have I seen a candidate so desperate for attention or votes that they bring their opponents mother into the equation. And to team up with a liberal columnist to attack a fellow Republican by insulting their mother? Trashy. Classless. Witch.

Kathryn Townsend, a lady who can't even fulfill her duties as State Committeewoman of the Seminole GOP, a campaign law violator, trademark thief, and the Wicked Witch of Seminole County. Cue Enya's Orinoco Flow.
