Adjectives Market in Altamonte Springs is the ONLY place for vintage finds in Seminole County.

By Jacob Engels

Over the past year, there is not one single place in Seminole County that I have spent more time at than Adjectives Market. I've spent over $2,000 at Adjectives in the past year. When friends come to town, I recommend we go to Adjectives. When I need to get someone a gift, I go to Adjectives. When it's a dreadfully boring or eventful day, I want to go to Adjectives.

So what is Adjectives and why should you go?

Adjectives Market is a vintage marketplace with over 90 vendors and 12,000 square feet of vintage items. Clothes, old furs, drinking horns, skeleton keys, and more.

Looking for an old dress for a themed party? Adjectives has that. Antique furniture for your home, Adjectives has plenty of that. Simply put, they have something for everyone. And if they don't have it, you can tell them exactly what you are looking for and they put the word out to their vendors.

Now you are thinking - "Well vintage items and antiques are going to be really expensive." Wrong. The most expensive item I have purchased from adjectives was a vintage umbrella from the 1960's which clocked in at $59. Most all of my visits to adjectives end up costing me less than $200, while usually getting 5-7 items.

I have shopped vintage items, antique items, and oddities in New York and across the country. Save a trip to a little shop buried in Topanga Canyon in California, Adjectives is the best I have come across. They are always changing vendors and the vendors that are a constant at Adjectives are consistently updating their collections. Every time I have been there, I find something new and have a chance to re-visit items I missed the trip prior.

Aside from the wonderful inventory and great prices, Adjectives serves as an awesome idea for taking someone out on a date or a fun trip with that friend or family member from out of town, preferably after dinner so you are not in a rush. I recommend budgeting at least 2 hours for your first trip, they are open everyday 10AM till 7PM.

When you go - check out the Paris Market, which is towards the back of the upstairs. They have awesome vests and vintage clothing. Also - if you are a political junky like me, be sure to go through all of the showcases throughout Adjectives and the old magazines when you get to the second floor - they always have interesting campaign pins and issues of LIFE and TIME magazine.

In the coming weeks, we will publish an interview with the manager of Adjectives, so stay tuned.

Adjectives Market is located on 1215 E. Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, Florida. For more information on Adjectives Market, click here.
